The Roadmap to Your Business in Oman

From Concept to Residency in 5 Steps:

Starting your business in Oman is a streamlined process. Here is the step-by-step journey we will take together:

Step 1: Name Reservation & Initial Approval

The first step is choosing a unique trade name for your business. We submit this to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MOCI) for formal approval.

  • Timeframe: 1-2 business days.

Step 2: Company Incorporation (The CR)

Once the name is approved, we draft the constitutive documents and register your company. At this stage, your Commercial Registration (CR) is issued, and your company officially becomes a legal entity in Oman.

  • Deliverable: Your Commercial Registration Certificate.

Step 3: Chamber of Commerce & Licensing

After the CR is issued, we register your company with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). Depending on your business activity, we will also apply for the necessary municipal licenses.

  • Status: Your company is now fully authorized to trade.

Step 4: Visa Clearance & Entry Permit

With the company documents ready, we apply for your Investor Visa clearance. Once approved, an entry permit is issued, allowing you to enter the Sultanate to finalize your residency.

  • Requirement: Passport copy and the company’s CR.

Remote Start:

Did you know we can complete Steps 1 through 4 while you are still in your home country?

Step 5: Medical Test & Residency Card

After arriving in Oman, you will undergo a simple medical check-up and provide your biometric data (fingerprints). Shortly after, you will receive your Omani Residency Card (Pataka).

  • The Result: You are now a legal resident and can open bank accounts, rent property, and start operations.

You only need to travel to Oman for the final medical test and to collect your Residency Card.
